Local students remembering classmate who died from aneurysm

Posted: Updated:

Harrison High School students are preparing a special memorial Friday evening for a classmate who suffered a brain aneurysm on Tuesday and passed away.

It's been an emotional week for students, but they are coming together to honor Vanessa Rash at the game against Castle.

Vanessa's friends tell 14 News she loved the Avengers and they decorated her locker and collected letters for her family throughout the week.

Her friend, David Francis, put together a video of Vanessa.

Friends say Vanessa was very outgoing.

"She was very funny," said Jazmyne Johnson. "She always had a smile on her face and was the perfect example of a person. She was a great warrior and I really respect her."

The junior class will be holding a candlelight service at Crossroads Christian Church on Saturday night at 7:00.

It will be in the South Parking Lot.

The vigil is open to the public.
