Funding needed to begin work on Roberts Park in Evansville could be put on hold.
Roberts Stadium was torn down earlier this year.
City Councilman John Friend says he'll recommend delaying funding for the new park for at least a year.
The Parks Department has requested $1.5-million to begin infrastructure work like utilities and roadways.
Friend says with funds tight, Roberts Park needs to be delayed.
"We've got to actually make choices no different than any other household would make," said Friend.
Friend says he believes other council members may be in support of the delay.
