Hot then not

Temps will surge into the mid to upper 80s behind mild southerly winds. Most of the rain will hold off until Saturday afternoon.  A cold front will pass through on Sunday and bring the rain threat to an end, and also kick our temperatures back into the 60s Sunday afternoon.  We should have a dry start next week. Byron has the forecast, plus a look ahead to the Fall Festival.

DC chase

A 1-year-old girl is in protective custody today after her mother was shot to death by police after trying to breach a barrier at the White House and leading authorities on a high speed car chase to Capitol Hill. Two law enforcement officials identify the driver as 34-year-old Miriam Carey, of Stamford, Conn. Carey's mother says her daughter was depressed but hadn't been violent.
