If you love yard sales there's a treasure hunt starting tomorrow that stretches for miles along Highway US 60 in western Kentucky. The more than 200 mile yard sale cuts across eight counties. Organizers say nonprofit organizations, groups, and hundreds of people are expected to be setting up yard sales, booths, and participating in this year's event.
"Folks are coming from all across the country. We get as many calls about this event as we do the Owensboro Bar-B-Q festival. So this is an exciting event for Owensboro," said Shannon Wetzel, Executive Director of the Daviess County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The Highway 60 Yard Sale allows visitors from Kentucky and surrounding states to visit new areas, hunt for unique treasures at yard sales, and visit local restaurants and shops along Highway 60. The event will begin Friday and end Sunday. Organizers say it doesn't cost anything for someone to set up a yard sale and participate in the event.
