There was a ribbon cutting on Thursday for a new brewery in Evansville.
The ceremony was held for Evansville's Carson's Brewery.
The public grand opening for the brewery is on Friday, but many city officials, including Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, were on-hand for the ceremony to tour the brewery and test out some of it's beers.
Jason Carson, the brewery's founder, says building his brewery here has been a vision for several years now. He says now that construction is officially finished, he and his staff are very excited to open.
Carson's is located off of Lynch Rd, east of the Southwestern Indiana Career and Technical Center.
There is a small bar in front, but the building is mostly where they can make the beer and sell it in growlers and kegs.
"Carson's was a vision between Nathaniel Cruise, who is our brewmaster, and John Mills, who is our head brewer," said Carson. "Doing lots and lots of sample beers over the last couple years, and kind of just all the events that we've done. We took our core six and that's where we came up with our main beers."
Carson's has six different beers to choose from. All of them will be sold in restaurants and stores throughout the region.
On Friday, the grand opening will be from 6:00-10:00 p.m.
Carson says they will have live music, food, and plenty of craft beer for everyone to enjoy.
