Dense fog

A foggy start to your Wednesday morning, pretty thick in some spots. This is in advance of a series of weather systems moving across the area over the next several days.  Along with the fog this morning, there will be scattered showers this afternoon.  High temps will reach the lower 80s. Byron has the details.

Fatal train accident

We're expecting to learn more this morning about a fatal Gibson County train accident. It happened last night around 10:45 at the intersection of Coal Mine Road and Main Street in Fort Branch. Police say one person was killed and another taken to Saint Mary's with injuries. The latest on Sunrise.

Government shutdown day 2

The budget stalemate shows no signs of easing on Capitol Hill and there are hints of a long siege ahead, with the government remaining shuttered. Republicans aren't backing down on their price of derailment or delay of the health care law in return for a temporary spending bill. Some lawmakers suggest it could go on for weeks.

Operation "Hot Mess"

Evansville high schools will once again engage in a friendly competition to see who can pick up the most trash in the city on Saturday.  Nicole is live at Harrison High with a preview of how students and the community are gearing up for Operation: "Hot Mess."

Jerusalem Bluegrass Celebration

A four-day bluegrass music festival starts tomorrow in Ohio County.  Emily Busby is live with the details.
