Pedestrian hit and killed in Henderson accident - Tri-State News, Weather & Sports

Identity released of pedestrian killed in Henderson accident

Tuesday night, just before 9 P.M. Emergency crews responded to the call of a deadly accident involving a pedestrian in Henderson.

It happened on the 800 block of North Green Street near the Beverage Barn.

Police say a man walking down the street was hit by a truck.

Officers say 54-year-old Mark Welch of Henderson died on the scene.

We're told by authorities that the driver was not at fault for the accident.

    Mayor Lloyd Winnecke says a group met with a project consultant and some think Roberts Park might be the perfect location. There's plenty of space and with other sporting facilities near the site, could be used to attract out of town swimming tournaments.
