NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) - A high school girl's soccer team paid tribute with pink Wednesday night. The New Albany versus Jeffersonville High School soccer game played host to a fundraiser for breast cancer research.

"As you saw tonight when the players took the field, each of them have a grandma or a mother or even a friend that actually was either a survivor or was effected or taken by the disease," said Rhonda Iglesias, New Albany girls soccer team manager. "So it's a girl's disease and one that our girls want to stand up for."

The New Albany team has had a ‘Pink Out' game every year since 2009. Everything, including the ball, was pink. All donations given to the New Albany girls go directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
