Owensboro Police searching for attempted bank robbery suspect

Owensboro police responded to an attempted bank robbery Tuesday afternoon, and they now need the public's help to find out who's responsible.

Officers say a man attempted to break into the US Bank on Carter Road a little before 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

We're told the man was about 6 feet tall and was wearing a ski mask and gloves. Officers say the man approached the doors of the bank, tried to get inside, but the bank was already closed and doors were locked.

Police say the man left the scene in a white Mercury passenger car and was seen going north on Carter Road towards West Parrish Avenue.

It is the same bank that was robbed last month. A suspect was caught in that robbery.

Call Owensboro Police if you have any information.
