DANVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A 9-year-old boy called 911 after his parents were shot to death inside a pawn shop, according to ABC Gold Games & More co-owner Steve Divine.
According to police, at 9:17 a.m. Friday three people were found dead in ABC Gold Games and More Pawn Shop on Fourth Street in Danville.
Police say the boy called 911 and told police there was a robbery that led to the shootings. Once officers arrived at the scene, the front door was locked, so they had to break the glass to get in. They say they found three people shot to death and two children including a toddler unharmed.
At this time police do not have suspect information, nor do they have a motive of why this happened. This prompted nearby schools and businesses including Centre College to go on lock down for several hours. Lock downs were then lifted.
"It seems to be a incident that's isolated to this facility," said Chief Tony Gray, Danville Police.
James Gage's business sits right across the street. While he didn't know the owners, he knew the children would go to work with them frequently.
"You can't put enough love and sympathy out for those kids when you imagine what they are going to go through," said Gage.
Divine says the children are with other family members right now.
Police say they have no surveillance video and they do not have strong suspect information. They ask if you were around this area at 8-9:30 a.m. Friday morning and saw something suspicious to give them a call at 859-238-1220.
