All you need to know for the Owensboro Air Show

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

The City of Owensboro invites the region to the Owensboro Air Show Saturday, September 19-21.  The weekend's activities are as follows:

Thursday through Sunday, September 19 -22 - USS LST 325 docking at English Park for tours;

Friday, September 20 – 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – static display and nighttime performances at Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport (admission is $2.00 per person; kids 10 and under are free);

Saturday, September 21 – 1:00 p.m. – Owensboro Air Show over the Ohio River with public viewing locations at English Park, Riverfront Crossing and the RiverPark Center Patio with vendors located in these areas.  There will be a free courtesy shuttle running from the Owensboro Sportscenter to downtown for the air show beginning at 11:30 a.m. ending at 4:30 p.m.

The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21:

  • Veterans Boulevard
  • Second Street from Triplett Street to Elm Street

Please note that the English Park boat ramp will close from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the top two floors of the Daviess Street parking garage downtown will be closed on September 21.  Please visit www.owensboroairshow.com for more information about the performers.  The Owensboro Air Show is sponsored by Independence Bank, the City of Owensboro, Lambert – St. Louis International Airport, Cape Air, Courtyard Marriott, Steve Jones Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Wright Implement.
