Free Alzheimer's workshops set for September

Home Instead Senior Care is hosting Alzheimer's workshops in September in conjunction with World Alzheimer's Month.
 
They're hosting four free workshops for family members and caregivers, where they will receive training to help deal with the challenging behaviors that often result from the Alzheimer's and other dementia's.

The Alzheimer's CARE: Changing Aging Through Research and Education workshop will be offered on:
o    Sept. 17 from 7-10 p.m., Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand
o    Sept. 23 from 6-8 p.m., Redbanks Skilled Nursing Center, 851 Kimsey Lane, Henderson
o    Sept. 26, 6-8 p.m., Owensboro Health Park, 1006 Ford Ave., Owensboro
o    Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Home Instead Senior Care, 223 N.W. 2nd St., Suite 310, Evansville

A free Confidence to Care at Home kit, an at-a-glance collection of information, tips and resources to help handle difficult situations, avoid household accidents, encourage engagement and prevent caregiver stress that is designed for any member of the household to reference anytime they need it.

The Alzheimer's and Other Dementias Daily Helper smart phone app that helps families find solutions when they have to react quickly to a difficult situation. Available September 16, this free app is designed to help families manage issues as they arise, whether at home or in public.
