Jury recommends 40 years for Muhlenberg Co. man found guilty of murder

A Muhlenberg jury has found Lennie Dillon of Drakesboro guilty in the shooting death of Amy Dennison.

Officials say it took the jury only a few hours to decide.

The jury recommended a 40 year prison sentence for Dillon. A formal sentencing will be held on September 23 at 2:30 in Muhlenberg County Circuit Court.

The two day trial was filled with emotional family testimony and expert witnesses including forensic lab specialists. The case hinged on key parts including blood splatter analysis from inside the van and how experts say the shooting probably took place.

Dennison was found in a van back in March of 2012. Authorities say Dillon was found about a mile away with a self inflicted gunshot wound.
