Downtown attractions victimized by graffiti artists

Several buildings in Downtown Evansville have been the victims of graffiti.

This week police say the Koch family Children's Museum of Evansville and areas around the Ford Center were targeted.

In August, the Hadi Shrine Temple was hit.

Police don't think the graffiti is gang-related.

However, they believe the same people are responsible.

At CMOE staff say so far they haven't had any luck removing the graffiti and may have to spend valuable dollars hiring someone to clean it off.

"The unfortunate thing is we're a non-profit organization," said Ashley McReynolds "We've got three brand-new exhibits coming in that we're working on and a bunch of special events coming up and this is taking staff time and money away from those things that we could be doing for the community."

One of those events is a kids flea market being held on the sidewalk outside CMOE in Downtown Evansville.

That event begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
