We Are Evansville gets 'corny'

A-maze-ing. A-maze-ing.

The new slogan 'We Are Evansville' becomes a corny expression and there's nothing wrong with that.

The Mayse Farm Market's owner, Paul Mayse, took a day and a half to cut the phrase into the corn field.

He says they were inspired by the 'We Are Evansville' campaign and wanted to show support for the city.

The corn maze will have Evansville trivia questions scattered throughout that participants can answer to help them find their way through.

"Back in the spring we heard that Evansville was considered one of the worst cities in the country and I don't agree with that," said Mayse. "It kind of rallies people around the community and they come out here and they get to learn a little bit too about Evansville history. A lot of things on those question sheets I had no idea."

The corn maze isn't ready for the public yet.

It opens September 21.
