Henderson man sentenced to 5 years in jail for school bomb threat

A Henderson man is sentenced to jail for allegedly making threats to set off bombs at Henderson County High School.

According to our media partner, The Madisonville Messenger, 21-year-old Brenden Mathis was sentenced Monday to five years on a charge of second-degree terroristic threatening.

Authorities say he was allegedly overheard at a restaurant back in April making comments about putting explosives inside the school.

Mathis is in the Henderson County Detention Center.
