Western Kentucky 9/11 Remembrance events

Several moving tributes will be happening throughout our region of the Bluegrass state Wednesday, to remember those 3,000 who died on September 11th.

In Madisonville, the public is invited to attend a day of remembrance memorial service for those who lost their lives 12 years ago.  Those who attend will join Judge Exec. Donnie Carroll and Mayor David Jackson in a wreath laying ceremony on the steps of the Old Courthouse in downtown.  The service begins at 9 a.m.

In Owensboro, the American Vets Post 119 will host their annual Freedom Walk this morning.  It will begin at 11 a.m. at the Vets Memorial located at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

In Hopkins County, the Central High School ROTC program will be standing guard around the school today to honor those affected by September 11th.  This is the 12th year for the event, and the students will begin standing guard around 7 a.m.
