A memorial was held on Tuesday night for an Owensboro man killed at a raceway on Sunday night.

Visitation for 21-year-old Ryan Peters was held at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home in Owensboro.

Friends of Peters told 14 News that he was well liked and loved racing. Friends said he worked on motors for race cars and was a driver himself.

Peters' funeral is scheduled for Wednesday and Windy Hollow Speedway says they will have a memorial service on Friday night.

The Daviess County Sheriff's Office says Peters died from his injuries after he was struck by a car that lost control at Windy Hollow Speedway Sunday night.
