HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) -

A Hopkins County man is in jail following a high speed chase and crash over the weekend. That's according to our media partner, The Madisonville Messenger.

It started Sunday on Hanson Road.

Authorities say they tried to pull over 33-year-old Derek Harr III because his vehicle matched the description of a stolen scooter suspect.

Police say Harr took off, driving more than 100 miles an hour and turning onto several roads, before crashing into a house.

Officials say Harr and a minor ran away from the vehicle, but were caught on Vendetta Road.

Harr is facing multiple charges including evading police and wanton endangerment.

No one was hurt in the accident.
