The racing community and friends of Ryan Peters are raising money to help the Peters' family.

Ryan died after being struck by a race car Sunday night at Windy Hollow Speedway in Daviess County.

Maloney's Restaurant and radio station 93.9 accepted donations and gave ten percent of food purchases to Peters' grandmother and brother.

Organizers say Ryan loved racing and was a former driver and crew member.

"We're trying to raise money to help his little brother because his grandmother was raising both of the boys and Ryan was kind of in charge of taking care of his little brother," said Terri Hilborn, the promotions director at 93.9 WKTG.

Authorities are still investigating the accident and are asking for any footage that may have been taken of the race track accident.
