BENTON, IL (KFVS) -

Search crews found the body of a missing 18-year-old swimmer at Rend Lake.

Franklin County Coroner Marty P. Leffler said crews found the body Emilie Jo Turrentine.

Leffler said the preliminary autopsy results are consistent with drowning. He said there were no signs of any type of trauma or injuries, and that foul play is not a factor.

"This just a tragedy for her family, her classmates, her friends and the entire Carmi - White County area," Leffler said.

Final autopsy results will be available in a few weeks, once toxicology results are available.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi.

Search crews were searching Tuesday for the missing swimmer in Rend Lake, according Sgt. Jeff Cariens with Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources.

Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones says 18-year-old Emilie Jo Turrentine was from Carmi, Illinois.

Jones says Turrentine just turned 18 on August 29.

The search is took place north of Route 154 bridge near sailboat harbor. There were five boats on the water looking for Turrentine. This is 300 yards west of Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park.

Crews were out searching a two-acre area for much of Monday.

Authorities got the call shortly after 11 a.m. about a female who had gone missing after swimming with four others off a boat.

IDNR searched the site with its search and rescue boat that is equipped with special sonar. The Rend Lake Dive Team and Abbott Ambulance were also on the scene.

"Currently, IDNR has three watercraft on the scene," said Sgt. Cariens on Monday. "One with toadfish sonar, one with five-scan sonar and another is keeping other boats away from the area. The Corps of Engineers also has a side-scan sonar boat searching."

Sgt. Cariens says the boats out there ran a grid-search pattern using locations pointed out by witnesses in 300 yards each direction.

Carmi-White County Jr/Sr High has canceled all of the sports activities for Tuesday evening, "Because of the tragedy White County is going through right now."
