Assistant coach at KY high school killed in crash

An assistant football coach at a central Kentucky high school has died after a motorcycle crash.

The Fayette County Coroner's Office says 47-year-old Michael "Mickey" Goodwin of Stanford was pronounced dead at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital Friday afternoon. Goodwin was an assistant at Lincoln County High School.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reported that Goodwin was riding his motorcycle on U.S. 27 in Garrard County when it collided with a car.

The Garrard County Sheriff's Office says Goodwin's cycle then hit a guardrail, throwing its rider over an embankment.
