Testimony has wrapped up in an Evansville murder trial.

Racxon McDowell is accused of killing his girlfriend, 24-year-old Rachel Lomax, at her apartment on Mt. Vernon Avenue last summer.

McDowell took the stand on Wednesday.

McDowell gave a very detailed account of the relationship he had with Lomax and of the events that happened just hours before she died.

McDowell said he and Lomax got into an argument after they had both been out drinking. He said Lomax was angry because she could not find her prescription pills and McDowell refused to take her back to the bar to look for them. He said things then got physical.

When the prosecution asked him if he just beat her up, McDowell responded, "She spit on me, what would you do?"

The trial will continue Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. and the jury should have a verdict by Thursday afternoon.
