Owensboro police help man they say was suicidal

Owensboro Police were looking for a man this morning after someone called 911 saying the man was threatening to kill himself on Facebook. Police say they were told the man was possibly armed with a hand gun. Police were able to find his vehicle parked in the Sports Center parking lot. During that time Owensboro Catholic High School was put on lock down as police attempted to make contact with the man. After several attempts police determined the man was not in the vehicle. "After about 3 and a half hours of being on scene we were able to reopen roadways that surround this incident and also remove the lock down from the Owensboro Catholic High School," said Officer Michael Hathaway.

Police say they later found the man near the Moreland Park area and was taken to River Valley Health for an evaluation.
