Train hits car at Vincennes railroad crossing, woman killed

A woman was killed Tuesday afternoon after a train hit her car in Vincennes. 

Vincennes Police say 54-year-old Janice Blankenbeker of Robinson, Illinois, was killed in an accident at a railroad crossing in the 500 block of Rousillion Street around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Police say a CSX train hit her car. Officers say when they arrived the signals and crossing arms were operational and functioning properly.

Police say the investigation into the accident is ongoing. Authorities believe alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
