Father, son on moped injured in crash involving JCPS bus

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A father and his 6-year-old son were injured when the moped they were riding was involved in an accident with a Jefferson County Public School bus.

According to MetroSafe dispatchers the wreck happened at 4:23 p.m. Tuesday in the 5600 block of Southside Drive, near Cumberland Avenue.

The bus was transporting children from Auburndale Elementary. No children on board the bus were injured. The bus had minor damage and was able to continue on its route.

Crews on the scene said the father and son had minor injuries and were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
