Passenger in morning motorcycle accident dies at hospital

Tragedy stuck on Saturday during a poker run in Evansville.

Two people riding their motorcycle in the run were killed in an accident.

A man and a woman were killed in a motorcycle accident on the east side of Evansville.

Officials say the accident happened just after 11:00 Saturday morning in the westbound lanes of I-164, near the Covert Avenue exit.

Authorities say witnesses told them one of the motorcycle's tires blew out. The driver tried to keep control, but couldn't and the bike went down on its side.

Both the riders were ejected and were not wearing helmets.

Authorities tell 14 News the passenger was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Officials say the driver of the motorcycle driver died on scene. No names have been released.

They say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the accident. 

The crash is still under investigation.
