WEST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Police are investigating a daytime burglary on Ridgewood Road in West Hartford on Friday.

"I was petrified," said victim Brenda Murray. "It happened in broad daylight."

Murray said when she came home after work Friday afternoon, she found parts of their residence in disarray.

"My bedroom lights were on, jewelry box open," Murray said. "When I got downstairs, back door smashed in and opened - grabbed the dog, ran out the garage and called police."

The State Connecticut Police K-9 Unit is assisting West Hartford police in the search for the suspect and tracking the scent.

Murray said she is not even sure yet if anything was taken. She joined police after they gathered photos and collected evidence to figure out what might've been taken.

No one was seriously injured.

Murray said she found a rock at the back door, which was smashed in, and she believes that is how the suspect got in the home.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the West Hartford Police Department at 860-523-5203. All calls will be kept confidential.
