GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -

Gibson County dispatch has released 911 calls made Wednesday morning from the scene of a four vehicle wreck on Highway 41.

It happened around 5:30 a.m., on Highway 41 in the northbound lane just south of State Road 168.

Deputies say one car rear ended a pick up truck which forced that truck into the back of another pick up truck.

The driver of the front truck got out of his vehicle to check on the other drivers and call 911 for help and as he was doing that another pick up truck, trying to avoid the wreck, struck him.

In the 911 call you can hear the man on the phone with a 911 dispatcher when suddenly the screeching of tires is heard.  The man then is heard groaning in pain as the dispatcher attempts to figure out where the accident is located.

A medical helicopter was contacted, but then disregarded.

Deputies say the man who was hit by the truck and two other people were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
