An Evansville man says his dog likely saved his life after an overnight house fire.
The fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. at 112 E. Iowa, a few blocks east of Deaconess Hospital. Crews say they were able to get the fire under control in about a half hour.
Robert Shadrick was able to get outside to safety because of his dog alerting him.
