Gibson Co. law enforcement crack down on impaired drivers

GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -

Law Enforcement in Gibson County band together late Friday night to stage a checkpoint that cracks down on impaired drivers. 

The checkpoint, with officers from Princeton Police Department, Oakland City Police Department, and the Gibson County Sheriff's Office, arrested three people during the check point.  

The Gibson County Sheriff's Office says 29-year-old Forintino Valiente, of Latin America, and 32-year-old Garth Bailey, of Albion, were arrested for driving under the influence.  

Deputies say 18-year-old Trey Allen Hall, of Princeton, was also arrested at the checkpoint for possession of a synthetic cannabinoid and possession of drug paraphernalia.  

In addition to those arrests, the sheriff's office says 18-year-ols Joshua A. Taleno, of Evansville, was given a misdemeanor summons after drug paraphernalia was discovered in his vehicle. 

Law enforcement say several citations and written warnings were issued at the checkpoint.
