Hopkins Co. man pleads guilty after 2010 crime spree

HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) -

A Hopkins County man has pleaded guilty in a case that ended in mistrial last year.

Brandon Polley was indicted on 21 counts in connection with a 2010 crime spree in the Grapevine area of Madisonville.

Authorities say Polley also stole a patrol car while handcuffed, then held people inside a home hostage for an hour.

The Commonwealth Attorney's Office says the judge declared a mistrial last summer when attorneys went through the jury pool without agreeing on who should be seated.

On Thursday, Polley pleaded guilty before a new trial could begin.

Officials tell 14 News he'll be sentenced to 30 years in prison on September 3.
