An Evansville man arrested during a SWAT raid in 2010 has now been sentenced.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says 28-year-old Kenneth Schmitt has been sentenced to just over nine years in jail. A jury found him guilty of illegally possessing an assault rifle.
Back in 2010, authorities say the SWAT team was sent to arrest Schmitt on a drug charge, because he had a history of violence. It was during that arrest, that police say they found drugs and the assault rifle.
In 2008, Schmitt was arrested after police say he held two men at gun point.
