It was a difficult weekend at Ellis Park.

There were two separate accidents, one on Friday and another on Sunday.

Ellis Park General Manager Bob Jackson said Jockey Dylan Davis was riding the horse, Debits and Credits, when the horse suddenly broke its leg and fell during a Friday race.

Davis was taken to St. Mary's Hospital, but ended up okay, with only a slight concussion. He's back at the tracks, ready to ride.

But Debits and Credits wasn't so lucky. The horse had to be put down after the race.

Ellis Park officials posted a statement on their Facebook page saying it's an unfortunate part of the sport.

Then just two days later, during the 8th race Sunday,  Jockey Juan Molina was thrown from his horse, Mangia Troppo, after another horse, Air Squadron, clipped its heels.

Molina went to the hospital, but was later released that night. Jackson says he thinks Molina has a broken collarbone. No word yet on when he'll be able to ride again.

Mangia Troppo was euthanized on the tracks because of injuries. Jackson says Air Squadron was disqualified after the accident.
