Friends, family say Todd Satterfield touched lives of many people

Posted: Updated:

On Monday night, a special memorial service is planned for Todd Satterfield.

Todd lost his battle with cancer Saturday night, but he friends say they want to make sure his legacy, and what he lived for, lives on.

One of Todd's closest friends say it's one thing to have faith when you're living, it's another thing to have faith when you're dying.

"He wasn't scared of where he was going," says Joey Davenport. "He just didn't really like what he was leaving behind."

"He's brought so much meaning and purpose to the lives in this community," says Lindsey Harper.

Live on Purpose, Plus One - Words that Todd adopted as his own.

"His motto was, 'Each day I live, I want to bring one more person to God,'" says Lindsey.

He touched the lives of so many people and he is still doing it after his death. Since Saturday night, more than 1,000 'Live on Purpose' shirts have been sold and all it took was a Facebook post.

"Literally within one minute, it went 'ding, ding, ding, ding,' and there was about 25 that ordered just like that."

The owners of Elite Screen Printing were up until the wee hours of the morning on Sunday, filling the orders that are still coming in.

"The Henderson community is just awesome at getting behind people and really helping people when they're in need," says Chris Hartman.

The community is doing it again with a candle light service.

"Myself and others have been putting it on Facebook," says Lindsey. "I'm texting and calling people. I want as many in the community to come as possible."

A beautiful ceremony to honor Todd, a man who brought beauty into the lives of so many others and whose memory will continue to live on, with a purpose.

"We should live each moment for each second, because we are not promised anything," says Todd, when 14 News spoke with him weeks before he passed away.

The candle light service will be held Monday night at Central Park in Henderson.

Candles will be given out around 7:30 and the service will start at dusk.

Everyone is asked to wear their 'Live on Purpose' T-shirt.

If you would like to order one, email Elite

All proceeds will go directly to a college fund for Todd's son, Alec.
