MCLEAN CO., KY (WFIE) -

People from Independence Bank and Habitat for Humanity broke ground on a new home in Livermore.

14 News is told the home is being built for a single mom.

Independence Bank says their employees and directors will donate 700 hours building the home and contract out the jobs they are not licensed to do.

Habitat for Humanity says construction on the home will be completed in December.

"It obviously is a great feeling to be able to help build a home for someone who you know is going to use that to help better their lives and the lives of their children," said Tawna Wright with Independence Bank.

The project is big news for the community. Livermore Mayor Sonny Renfrow says it has been years since a new home was built in the City of Livermore.
