Posted: Updated:

A motorcycle wreck backed up traffic on Tuesday at Highway 41 and I-164.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office says the driver, 54-year-old Terry Rodney Simpson, tested positive for meth and had a blood alcohol level of .16%. The legal limit is .08.

Authorities say he lost control of his bike and it slid out from under him. He wasn't wearing a helmet. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Traffic came to a stand-still while the scene was cleared. The accident is still under investigation.
