Proposed softball complex moving full steam ahead

Posted: Updated:

Board members with the Evansville Convention and Visitor's Bureau will be updated on Wednesday morning on the progress of the proposed softball complex.

Just southwest of the Goebel Soccer Complex on north Green River Road is 96 acres where the convention and visitor's bureau wants to build eight ball fields.

The bureau's director Bob Warren says he's very busy with meeting with residents in the area and talking to county officials. He says the plan is moving full steam ahead and his team is already traveling the country trying to sell this complex to organizations in order to bring their tournaments here.

Warren says the new complex with be a first-class facility with all the bells and whistles. He hopes to have teams playing ball there by late next year.
