Restaurant Report: Local gym among several struggling facilities

The latest food inspection reports from the Vanderburgh Co. Health Department feature critical violations by several local restaurants, including one local gym that received a total of three citations.

Restaurants with violations:

Bar Louie Tavern & Grill, 7700 Eagle Crest Blvd.

2 non-critical violations – large storage containers soiled, no soap provided at hand sink

2 critical violations – no sanitizer containers available for wipe cloth storage, dish machine not dispersing sanitizer

Barnes & Noble, 624 S. Green River Road

1 critical violation – hand sink in back room not accessible to wash hands

Bob's Gym, 345 Bentee Wes Court

3 critical violations – no hand sink at juice bar, 3 compartment sink at juice bar not being used properly, surface not being cleaned with sanitizer

Circle K, 6801 Highway 41 N.

1 non-critical violation – no grease trap maintenance log

2 critical violations – apples not wrapped, cigarette butts in stockroom

Cleavers, 5501 E. Indiana St.

1 critical violation – no sanitizing containers available for wipe cloth storage

Dairy Queen Windmill, 6801 Highway 41 N.

1 non-critical violation – wet wiping cloths improperly stored

Family Dollar, 501 Lincoln Ave.

1 non-critical violation – south wall of warehousing at employee break area has gap in wall at drain/ conduit that needs sealed, dead insects on floor

Grand Buffet, 1356 N. Green River Road

2 non-critical violations – no paper towels at hand sink by dish machine, items in freezer not covered

1 critical violation – sanitizer in 3 compartment sink not strong enough

Harbor Bay, 4706 Morgan Ave.

2 non-critical violations – walk-in door soiled, no paper towels at hand sinks

1 critical violation – dish machine not dispensing sanitizer

Mama Roma's Pizza & Wings Express, 3115 Covert Ave.

3 non-critical violations – baseboard needed to drive up window by entry, condensation dripping in pizza preparation cabinet, condensation dripping in walk-in

Mandarin Garden, 2013 N. Green River Road

3 non-critical violations – no paper towels at hand sink, wall of walk-in soiled, floors have build up around edges

2 critical violations – can opener soiled, utensils in storage soiled

2 non-critical violations – freezer has deli frosting up, cooling unit in produce dripping condensation

2 critical violations – outdated Enfamil on shelf, hand sink used for dumping food

Qdoba Mexican Grill, 922 N. Burkhardt Road

1 non-critical violation – wall at 3 compartment sink soiled

1 critical violation – no sanitizer detected in dish machine

Rally's, 4720 E. Morgan Ave.

1 critical violation – grease trap maintenance log not kept up-to-date

1 non-critical violation – improper storage of ladder at 3 compartment sink

1 non-critical violation – bulk containers of food not cooled with shallow pans
