It's that time of year again.
School will be starting within the next couple of weeks, and back to school sales have already begun.
According to the National Retail Federation the average American family will spend about $635 on school supplies this year, that includes clothes and shoes.
That's actually down from last year when they spent average $688.
The store manager at the east side Target in Evansville tells us most schools in the area will be starting the second week of August, so if you want to shop without the crowds, now is the time to do it.
We wanted to get an idea of what local parents can expect to spend, so we went shopping ourselves.
