Wednesday morning a Jefferson County father and son caught a thief in the act and tied him up until deputies arrived.
Deputies were called to a home in Sylvan Springs around 5 a.m. where they found the alleged burglar sitting on the ground, his ankles tied with rope.
The victim told deputies that his father had alerted him that there was a man walking toward his home. That's when the son looked outside and saw the man inside his wife's car.
When the son confronted the man he told deputies that he tried to run but the son caught him and tied a rope around his ankles with the help of his father.
Deputies identify the man as Kristopher Charles Robey, 31, of Mulga. They say Robey had entered the car and taken loose change. He has been charged with unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle, theft of property in the third degree and criminal trespass in the third degree. He is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a $20,500 bond.
