A Toledo, Ohio man is in jail on rape charges after being arrested in Daviess County.
Authorities say 37-year-old, Robert Tibbits, is accused of raping a child in Toledo, Ohio and on Thursday night, U.S. Marshals caught up with him in Daviess County.
Investigators say Tibbits was on the U.S. Marshal's Dangerous Dozen List in Ohio, meaning he was considered one of the most dangerous fugitives in the Tri-State.
Authorities accuse Tibbits of raping a 15-year-old girl, who gave birth to his child. They say he was actively avoiding arrest until U.S. Marshals found him and his girlfriend at a mobile home in Daviess County just after 10:00 on Thursday night.
Although Tibbits is still in Daviess County, authorities say he won't be for long.
"He's still in Kentucky right now, he will be going through and extradition process to Ohio, which he'll be coming back to Toledo to face the music," says Sgt. Joe Heffernan.
Officials say the extradition process usually takes a few days.
