Comic Quest to hold 2nd annual 'Game Day'

The Comic Quest on Morgan Ave. will hold its 2nd annual "Game Day" on Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to midnight.

The event is free for gamers of all ages and will feature multiple tournaments, including their first ever Skylanders tournament, game demos, championship events, and door prizes ranging from $4 to $100 every hour.

The first 100 players in line at 9 a.m. will receive a special custom made dice, and every attendee will receive one door prize ticket.

There will also be a cosplay custom contest, at which members of the 501st Legion will be making an appearance.

Artists and creators will be present as well, including featured guest creators Cecily "CC" Cunningham and Jacob Walker.

The "Kids Korner" area will allow children to make masks, get their faces painted and make buttons, all while their parents are relaxing and playing games.

A charity bake sale and raffle will be held all day with proceeds benefiting Child's Play, a national charity that works directly with children's hospitals like Riley in Indianapolis and Kosair in Louisville to provide young patients with video game equipment to help pass the time during their stay and use during therapy sessions.

Food will be provided by the CHOMP truck throughout the day.

More information about this event, including a complete list of tournament times and game demos available, can be found by visiting the Comic Quest Game Day event page on Facebook.
