A section of Evansville's West Side was closed to traffic on Wednesday after a gas meter was damaged during a wreck.
According to Evansville Police, an SUV tried to cross Delaware, but didn't see a truck coming.
The SUV hit the truck, forcing it off the road into the brick retaining wall of a nearby church. The truck continued and slammed into the side of the church and a gas meter.
Authorities shut off the gas to the church. Vectren says the church is the only affected gas customer.
The area was closed to traffic while crews made repairs.
