GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -

New information on a murder case in Gibson County.

The suspect, 23-year-old Austin Blaize, is turning down plea deals and wants to stand trial this month, according to our media partner, the Princeton Daily Clarion.

The Francisco man is facing numerous charges in connection with the January shooting death of 47-year-old Terry Monier in Fort Branch.

State police say Blaize came to the Monier home with intent to hurt his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend.

Investigators say he fired a handgun twice and the second time he fired he struck Monier, his ex-girlfriend's father.

Blaize's trial is scheduled to start July 29th.
