Daviess Co. deputies get multiple bear sighting calls over the weekend

Another day, another bear sighting in Daviess County. 

Major Marksberry with the Daviess County Sheriff's Office said dispatch received several calls over the weekend.

Officials say the bear was spotted around 2:00 Saturday afternoon near Parks Road in the Masonville area.

We're told authorities were sent out to investigate, but again didn't find the bear.  

Wildlife officials say they believe the bear is a young male from Tennessee that is lost. They don't believe the bear is any danger to the public.

Fish and Wildlife officials told the Daviess Co. Sheriff's Office to leave the bear alone and not to chase it, shoot it or trap it.
