Local restaurants team up to serve up local food

You've heard of carnivores, or omnivores, but there are more and more people becoming "localvores", people who eat only from local farms.

You have a chance to do just that at new Henderson event this Monday called "Farm to Table".

Betsy Stone is one of the eight Kentucky farmers who will be supplying the food.

She's partnered up with the Acropolis one of 8 participating restaurants.

Betsy tells us she'll be supplying them with honey, zucchini, eggplant and squash among other things, and she'll be donating all the food- enough for 100 people.

She says it's worth it to spread the word about the local farmer's market.

"Our customer base has grown a lot. We have a lot more customers than we have had in the past. Since we have come here we have picked up the younger generation," says Stone.

The dinner is taking place this coming Monday, July,15th.

There are 100 spots available. Tickets are $25. You can purchase them by calling the Henderson Chamber at 270-826-9531.
