The tree limb fell in the 400 block of Deerfield Lane in St. Matthews.
The boy was riding his red scooter when the limb fell on him next door to his house.
The boy's father and a neighbor used a jack to lift the tree limb off the injured child.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The 13-year-old killed by the fallen tree limb has been identified by the coroner's office as Zachery Wayne Foree. He lived in the 400 block of Deerfield Lane.
The incident happened around 3 p.m. Wednesday on Deerfield Lane in St. Matthews.
Neighbor Mohamad Moghimi said the boy was riding his scooter and was with his brother when the limb fell. They boys apparently were trying to rush home during the storm. Moghimi said they live next door to the house where the limb fell.
