Evansville Museum's annual gala will be prom-like

The Evansville Museum's annual gala will be held in August instead of November this year.

The event will be held in Tropicana Evansville's Walnut Rooms A & B at 6 p.m. on August 3.

Also different this year is the new theme of "Time After Time: A Prom."

The event co-chairs are planning this prom-like party to symbolize that 2013 is a year of change for the museum; a "graduation to the next era."

Guests are invited to dress in prom attire from any era and join the event's master of ceremonies and trustee Andrew Wilson for the end-of-summer celebration, which will feature an evening of dinner, music, and dancing to the music of Nashville group, Top Tier.

Ticket prices are $100 for people who graduated in 1996 or earlier, and $75 for anyone who graduated after 1996.

Prepaid tables of eight are available for $1,000, and guests can name their table (ex. Mater Dei High School, Class of 1977).

If you would like to join the celebration, call the Museum at 812-425-2406 or visit emuseum.org.
