Detroit boy drowns at NE Indiana summer camp

Conservation officers say a 15-year-old boy from Detroit has drowned at a northeastern Indiana summer camp.
The state Department of Natural Resources says staff at the Howe School Summer Camp about 40 miles north of Fort Wayne noticed the boy was missing about 6 p.m. Monday. That led to a check of the shoreline of the camp's Cedar Lake, where a lifeguard found the victim's body in about 8 feet of water.
WSBT-TV reports the teenager was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim's name has not been released.
Howe School Summer Camp's website says the camp is for boys, ages 9 to 15.
